{"id":166,"date":"2014-05-29T14:47:14","date_gmt":"2014-05-29T14:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/callsforpapers.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=166"},"modified":"2014-05-29T14:47:14","modified_gmt":"2014-05-29T14:47:14","slug":"institute-of-art-history","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/callsforpapers.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=166","title":{"rendered":"Institute of Art History"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Deadline: Jun 30, 2014<\/p>\n<p>Call for papers<br \/>\nDiocletian&#8217;s Palace in the works of Adam, Cl\u00e9risseau and Cassas International conference organized by Institute of Art History,\u00a0Center Cvito Fiskovic in Split, Croatia, November 27 &#8211; 29, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The Grand Tour, as an educational rite of passage, reached its peak in the 18th C, widening its travelling radius outside of Rome and Italy onto further parts of the Roman Empire, among which Dalmatia held a prominent position.<\/p>\n<p>The international interdisciplinary conference on architecture, urban planning and architectural decoration aims to explore the role of Diocletian&#8217;s Palace in the work of Robert Adam, Charles-Louis Cl\u00e9risseau and Louis-Fran\u00e7ois Cassas, as well as the influence of Diocletian&#8217;s palace on the development of European neoclassicism.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome proposals for 20-minute papers. Each proposal should consist of a 250-word abstract and short biographical statement. Proposals are due by 30\/06\/2014.
