To be held at Brangwyn Hall, The Guildhall, Swansea, on 11 and 12 February 2015, and organised by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales, ‘Digital Past’ is an annual two-day conference which showcases digital technologies and techniques for data capture, interpretation and dissemination of the heritage of Wales, the UK and beyond. The organisers are seeking submissions from those working on innovative projects on the themes of ‘Visual Heritage’ and ‘Digital Public and Community Archaeology’. History of Oxford Colleges Conference 2014
This conference gives historians, archivists and antiquaries (as well as researchers in related disciplines such as geography, archaeology, cartography, architecture and theology) the opportunity to present their latest research findings or theories on the history of Oxford’s colleges and halls to an appreciative audience of their peers. The theme of this year’s conference, to be held on 15 November 2014 at Hertford College, is ‘College history: approaches and methods’.
The 2015 Wallace Collection seminars on the history of collections and collecting
These seminars, hosted by the Wallace Collection, are normally held on the fourth Monday of every month between 5.30pm and 7pm. The organisers plan ten more seminars during 2015 and are keen to encourage contributions covering all aspects of the history of collecting, including the formation and dispersal of collections, dealers, auctioneers and the art market, collectors, museums, inventorial work and research resources. If you would like to contribute, please send a summary of up to 750 words, including a brief CV and an indication of which month you are free to speak, by 30 September 2014.
New insights into sixteenth- and seventeenth-century British architecture
‘New insights into sixteenth- and seventeenth-century British architecture’, to be held at the Society of Antiquaries on 24 January 2015, is fast approaching.
Proposals in the form of 250-word abstracts are invited for papers of thirty minutes in length. While the emphasis remains on new research in architecture, proposals on related themes, such as decorative arts, gardens, sculpture and monuments, are welcomed.

BEFS Congress
The Historic Environment Strategy for Scotland, Our Place in Time, was launched in March 2014. The Strategy was developed collaboratively and its successful delivery will only be possible through collaboration within and beyond the heritage sector. The purpose of the Congress is to look at the delivery of the Strategy, focusing on how this is already being done and where further work is needed.
We are inviting proposals for paper presentations or workshops/interactive sessions that address one or more of the following priorities identified in the Strategy:

Future Anterior invites essays that explore the relationship between copyright and preservation from a historical, theoretical and critical perspective. Both copyright and preservation laws are aimed at protecting unique human achievements, but they point to different, even opposing threats. Whereas copyright is meant to protect private interests from public encroachments, preservation mostly aims to safeguard the public interest against private forces. But as the categories of private and public are redrawn under the pressures of globalization, what challenges and opportunities lay ahead for preservation?

Diocletian’s Palace in the works of Adam, Clérisseau and Cassas International conference organized by Institute of Art History, Center Cvito Fiskovic in Split, Croatia, November 27 – 29, 2014.
The Grand Tour, as an educational rite of passage, reached its peak in the 18th C, widening its travelling radius outside of Rome and Italy onto further parts of the Roman Empire, among which Dalmatia held a prominent position.
The international interdisciplinary conference on architecture, urban planning and architectural decoration aims to explore the role of Diocletian’s Palace in the work of Robert Adam, Charles-Louis Clérisseau and Louis-François Cassas, as well as the influence of Diocletian’s palace on the development of European neoclassicism.
